Simple Effects Blog: Organize Your Personal Life

This week we are going to gather up all the data that pertains to your home for your tax return.  You’ll need:

- A list of your residential addresses in the past year

- Rent receipts for rent paid

and/or

- Mortgage interest (form 1098 from your lender) and second mortgage if applicable.

-Real Estate Taxes paid (you should have this info. from your county clerk or lender)

and if applicable:

-Sale of your Home or other Real Estate (your lender or closing agent should send you a 1099-S form)

-Moving expenses (not covered by an employer)

Put all of the above forms in your 2009 Income Tax folder.
