Hopefully by now you’ve collected most (if not all) of the documentation you’ll need to file your personal income tax return. ( If you have a small business you’ll also need to have documentation for all income/expenditures).

Income tax preparation is a great job to delegate to a professional.  A professional tax preparer is more likely to get you every available tax credit which will offset their fee.   You’ll also have the confidence in knowing that your return has been properly submitted and if you are missing any key documentation, your tax professional will tell you what you need and where you can obtain it.

So, this week’s task is to make an appointment with your accountant or Tax Preparation office, gather up the contents of your "Income Tax 2009" folder and go get that tax return done.
