Simplify your Holiday Decorating with Live or Edible decorations

The Holiday season is upon us, so I thought it was time to start sharing some simple holiday organizing tips.
If you don’t have room to store holiday decorations (those living in small apartments are often in this situation) or if the task of unpacking and repacking up your decorations fills you with dread rather than delight, you may want to consider using only live or edible decorations.
Why not choose a lovely floral display or fresh wreath delivered to your front door from your local florist. Or visit your grocery store for a pile of pumpkins or gourds; a mouthwatering gingerbread house; or a giant chocolate bunny or painted eggs.
Choosing plants or edible items as your sole holiday decoration will allow you to have a new display each holiday/year and when the holiday is over your only chore will be to eat it or carry it to the curb.

Joan, A great tip!! I am reaching the point where storing holiday decor year after year is more chore than delight. I am memorizing the mantra: beauty and function, beauty and function, beauty and function! Thanks!
love your new mantra!
This is a brilliant idea, but so simple I can’t believe I didn’t think of it myself! Every year we put out fewer and fewer decorations and although my enthusiasm is waning, I still want things to look festive, so I am so glad I read this before I put out the same old things this year.
Thanks Janet, enjoy your simplified but festive holiday season and oh, it will be SO easy when it’s time to take it all down. Happy Holidays!
